The original way to travel over water
Whether it’s gently cruising around your local coastline or making demanding offshore passages, sailing’s unique appeal lies in harnessing the power of nature. Nothing beats hoisting the sails, heading out to sea and feeling the boat embrace the elements.
At Coast and Cairn we can give you the opportunity to experience this wonderfully diverse and exciting activity on board our 24’ yacht. Based in the beautiful Moray Firth, on Scotland’s North-East coast and under the guidance of an experienced instructor, you can get a flavour of what sailing has to offer on one of our Introduction to Sailing sessions. Or if you’d like to explore the area, then join us on a Day Sailing Trip to a local harbour, where you can do as little or as much of the sailing as you like.
Our yacht is moored at Cromarty, on the picturesque Black Isle. This historic harbour is only a 40 minute drive from Inverness, the capital of the Highlands, with excellent connections by road, rail and air to the rest of the UK. We sail in the sheltered waters of the Cromarty and Inner Moray Firths, recognised as one of the best places in Europe to see bottlenose dolphins. Other wildlife is abundant too, with regular sightings of seals, porpoises, red kites and peregrine falcons to name but a few.
